Choosing Wedding Colors
You'd think that choosing your wedding colors would be a simple, easy, painless task...wouldn't you? But, when it comes down to it, there are a number of things to take into consideration before finally choosing the wedding color or colors that are right for you.
Bridesmaid Dresses - generally speaking, your bridesmaids' dresses are one of your wedding colors. Before you choose a color, you might want to make sure you can find bridesmaids' dresses with the color and style you are looking for. Plus, you may also want to make sure the color you choose looks okay on all of your bridesmaids.
Flowers - If you have your heart set on certain flowers for your wedding, you will probably want to choose wedding colors that will compliment the color of the flowers.
Ceremony and Reception - If the color of the carpet, walls or other is one particular color or a combination of colors at your ceremony or reception, then you may want to consider choosing a color that will not clash with your surroundings.
Invitations - If you want your invitations to contain this theme color, then you will also want to make sure that the invitations you choose are available in that color.
Others - Your cake, favors, decorations, and possibly other things may be something you want to take into consideration when choosing your colors, especially if you want them to be accented with your wedding colors.
Finally, I would just like to add that it is my opinion that when it is your wedding, you can do whatever you want! If you want your wedding colors to be teal and pink when the church carpet is orange, that is completely up to you and your judgment. If you want to have a different color for every bridesmaid, that is also up to you.
In fact, I went to a wedding just last weekend where the bride chose cornflower blue for the bridesmaid dresses and the flowers were orange, yellow, and blue - and it was just beautiful. So, make sure to do what you want and what will make your wedding unique to you.
