Chances are, you are not planning your own Bridal Shower (nor should you be), but in case your maid of honor or relative needs some bridal shower ideas, here is an inexpensive bridal shower theme idea.
If your wedding shower is in the spring or summer, a floral theme will be perfect. First, print on your computer or buy inexpensive invitations with flowers on them. Ask each of the guests to bring the seeds of their favorite flower or a garden tool in addition to their gift.
When guests arrive, ask them to write their name on a nametag. To spice it up a bit, make them come up with a flower that begins with the same letter as their first name and to write that on their nametag as well. For example, "Daisy Diane" or "Carnation Chris".
Don't spend a lot of money on floral arrangements to decorate, instead if you are having brunch/lunch/dinner use potted plants as centerpieces. Or place potted plants around the room to give the room an airy feel.
To find inexpensive potted plants, shop around. Go to your grocery store's floral department to see if they are having any specials. Try your local gardening store and see what they have to offer. If you play any games, the winners can take home a potted plant as a prize.
Make a corsage for the bride out of flowers from your garden, some wire, and floral tape. Or, your local craft store may have some silk flower corsages on sale that the bride can re-use at another friend's shower or other event.
For favors, buy tiny (2 or 4-inch) clay pots at the craft store. Paint the outside of the pots with
acrylic paint (be sure to use the wedding colors). Fill each of the pots with hershey's kisses, or M&Ms, etc. and wrap them with tulle circles. Tie the tulle with ribbon and you have an inexpensive favor for each of the guests.
As always, be creative. There are lots of variations that you can use on the above ideas. Use your imagination and you will be able to throw an extraordinary, memorable, beautiful, and inexpensive shower. Just remember have fun!
